Founded in 1868, the National Theatre has a long history to the latest reconstruction in the 1990s.
At the end of the 20th century, the Government decision on capital reconstruction of the building was adopted, according to which its area was doubled, another stage was constructed, a hall and foyers were refurbished.
It is on the reconstruction of the National Theatre, that the Svetlost Teatar team was established.
Challenges and special solutions for the reconstruction of a cultural monument, with the request for implementation of modern systems for stage and interior lighting, audio system and reconstruction of the existing system of stage mechanics still evoke admiration of the professionals, especially the ways in which modern technological systems are "invisibly" embedded in the luxurious interior of the hall and both foyers whose ceilings are partially or fully painted, with elements of gold-plated plastic.
In cooperation with the British Council, Svetlost Teatar gave the National Theatre New stage lighting console for the main stage, produced by the manufacturer Strand Lighting in 2001 with contemporary technological solutions management, precisely at a time of intense change in the standards for the control and management in the lighting industry.
After the first capital reconstruction, Svetlost Teatar equipped the new stage on the fifth floor of the Theatre with the stage lighting system, and also "Rasa Plaović" stage with the system of modular platform stage and the formation of a new cascade audience in 2011.
