The famous Composer Sergei Prokofiev created this “Light-hearted” opera, how he himself described it, in 1919 under contract with the Chicago Opera House.
The premiere of Love for Three Oranges was a great triumph.
Fantasy and dynamics of the Opera caught the attention of the Bolshoi theatre Management and they decided to stage that play as the new season Premiere in 1997.
Director Sir Peter Ustinov and Set designer Oleg Sheintsis made an inventive and modern production with high spirit and high technical requests to show the modern theatregoers a splendid atmosphere.

The scenery consisted of 9000 kg heavy bridges as a floating stage for dancers and singers, equipped with Side towers and precision Drive control system.
