The School of Dramatic Art is a gift the Russian capital to the director and manager Anatoly Vasilyev, as an act of respect for his great work.
His unique productions which by their structure reveal psychological theatre, are also transferred to Vasilyev’s idea regarding the New Theatre...
....“ When I was building my theatre, I dreamt of building a city laboratory with squares, streets, light and airy auditoriums where eye would meet no obstruction and the guest′s inquisitive gaze would only be stopped by the sky....“ thus Vasilyev described the concept of the New Theatre.
The concept was established by Anatoly Vasilyev and the set designer, Igor Popov.
The architectural project is the work of architects Boris Tkhor and Sergey Gusariev, Mosproekt-2, Masterskaya 6.
Project funding was provided by the budget of the city of Moscow.
Svetlost Teatar in consultation with Igor Popov, developed the project of Stage Technologies of the Theatre, stage mechanical systems, stage lighting systems, audio system, taking into account the specific requirements of the User.
Multifunctional building of the Theatre can be compared with the city, the city-theatre. Two halls and two stages Manjez and Globus are connected with the Atrium as an internal street. Manjez is the stage of transformations, without certain rules of the spectator-actor relationship, while Globus, like the Shakespeare's Globe theatre, has five levels of stage galleries, out of which three are for visitors. Stage platform of the Globus hall can be completely lowered to the under stage level.
During the construction phase, Svetlost Teatar delivered and installed a complete system of stage and professional lighting.
